🤝 Exercise Together

Use free technology to exercise with others who love Pungra. Although we cannot shake hands any more, making agreements with others is a powerful motivator to keep us physically active.

What's it all about?

Exercising to our videos on YouTube is nice, but wouldn't be great to be part of a community who motivate each other to exercise together? Workout at the same time as Activators and others in the club through Facebook Messenger Rooms.

Two platforms together

We use two platforms to help you exercise for free, read more about why we use both in this hybrid way.

YouTube

Our videos are available on your living room smart TV, laptop or other large screens. There's no need to try to exercise on a tiny screen such as those offered through Instagram Live, Zoom or similar.

Quality

We upload the best quality video and audio that we can and endeavour to keep improving the quality. If you have a high-quality TV with speakers that support 4K resolution, HDR and rich sound, we want you to make use of these.

Legal use of music

Almost all the music we use is copyright protected, which means we cannot make money using the music online. Neither can anyone using Punjabi music through Instagram Live, Zoom or similar - meaning all those who are, are breaking the law. We make no money for using Punjabi music on YouTube or facilitating Exercise Together sessions. Instead, the copyright holders receive royalties each time YouTube shows you an advert.

YouTube will show you adverts on our videos occasionally, that's how we can use the music legally. You can stop seeing the adverts by signing up to YouTube Premium. There are other benefits such as being able to download the videos legally and access to YouTube Music (similar to Spotify, Apple Music or Amazon Music).

Facebook Messenger Rooms

Facebook Messenger Rooms is free and is used to see others exercising to Punjabi music at the same time as you. It’s there to ensure we feel that sense of “if they’re doing it, then I should do it”.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why not just use Zoom alone, when everyone else is?

It's illegal to stream copyright-protected music through Zoom. We, and believe you do too, care about the copyrights laws that protect record labels and artists. It would be hypocritical to say we love exercising to Punjabi music and then use it illegally.

Help us educate others because most don't know.

What if I am late?

It doesn't matter. You can join early, or late. The point of the Exercise Together session is to encourage us because we can see each other exercising. But all of our attention should be on the large screen following videos, with an occasional glance at our mobile to see others. It doesn't really matter if others are a bit ahead, or behind, on the video.

What if I finish early, can I leave?

Yes of course. Another benefit of using this method, because you have completed your workout. If you want to stay for a few moments to chat and hear from the others feel free. Otherwise, if you have to go, leave, everyone understands - see you next time.

I don’t have two devices, can I still get involved?

To join an Exercise Together session you need two devices. Until such a time that you have two devices, please continue to access our free videos alone using YouTube.

How do I make sure I get the right amount of reminders?

We send one message with all the following week’s events, please be sure to provide your email address here.

Another way to be reminded that is free is with Google Calendar - subscribe, and copy to your own calendar.

Organise your own Exercise Together events

Perhaps the current times don’t suit you? You’re in a different time zone? Or otherwise, you want to lead your own events with your family, friends or colleagues.

I’m here to help you attract people to exercise or sessions that you lead. If you’re going to exercise with Pungra videos anyway, why not open up a Facebook Messenger Rooms video call and invite others to be connected with you?

A good way forward is to join one, or few, existing Exercise Together sessions. You’ll see how straightforward it is. The next stage is to provide the following to me every Saturday evening through ravi@pungra.fit

  1. Your time(s),

  2. Facebook Messenger Rooms link,

  3. Choice of video(s).

Not ready to organise your exercise together events yet? Be sure to subscribe anyway, to be reminded and motivated to begin at a time in the future that is right for you.

The small print

All sessions are approximately 20 minutes. The times are UK. If we don't have a time suitable for you yet, opt-in to receive notifications, we're growing the sessions.

Pungra@Home Activators are not qualified or insured to give you exercise pointers or advice. Activators are here to motivate, encourage and provide you any support you need for accessing the workouts. Activators will also be taking part in the sessions at the same time as you so we can enjoy it together!
